Devon and Jack are arguing, their voices getting lower and raspier until it's kind of awesome and a bit creepy. Liz is starting to wonder if this is the time to leave Jack's office, but she's strangely mesmerized. Jack says something so gravelly that it's unintelligible, and Devon nods.
"Fine," Devon says in his usual cadence. "You've won this round."
He storms out. Liz looks at Jack, who seems exceptionally satisfied with himself.
"Did you actually settle that with a 'talking like this' contest?"
Jack sighs. "This is no time for your jokes, Lemon."
Frowning, she mutters, "I wasn't joking."
