Liz likes Danny. Because he's gentle and polite and innocent and the last part makes her sound like a creepy pervert. Innocent? She shouldn't be thinking about that as a positive when she has her tongue in his mouth.
Which, you know, the whole 'tongue in his mouth' thing is probably a bad idea, considering the fact that he does work with her -- for her? -- but... she likes him. And how else is she going to meet someone? Really, she only seems to meet new people in this building, in her apartment building, or directly outside of one of those buildings. A lot of people do this sort of stuff, right? Date people at work. Or kiss people at work, since they haven't officially gone out on a date. (He asked her, though, and did so nicely.) But she is also a reformed workplace sex criminal and being involved with someone whose appearances on the show she has control over could count as sexual harassment. Crap. Maybe she should order him to not tell anyone about what they've done (and are doing and will do). But pulling away from a nice guy who kisses well -- that's another thing she likes about him, come to think of it -- to say, "You better keep your mouth shut about this," is probably going to make anything that's wrong with them being more than colleagues much, much worse.
They pause the kissing to breathe a little, and she refrains from saying anything that will ruin the moment. (Go her.) He rests his forehead against hers and it's so nice, to be like this with him.
She's using the word 'nice' a lot, but it is appropriate.
His hand -- and she likes his hands, too -- is curved against her hip and, when she shifts her body, she feels his thumb against her bare skin as her shirt rides up a little.
The way that makes Liz feel is not covered by the word 'nice.' But she likes the not nice feeling; lust isn't so bad, until it results in the dude all sweaty on top of her and her feeling like she's about to go to sleep from boredom. But maybe it won't end that way this time. Maybe he'll try to help her enjoy it, since he is the considerate sort.
He kisses the corner of her mouth before he pulls back slightly to look her in the eyes. "Do you think you could call me Jack now?"
She's puzzled for a second (yikes, he's into some 'pretend I'm your boss' roleplay? and didn't wait until the thirtieth date -- or preferably never -- to bring it up?) then remembers, oh, that's his real name. Of course he'd want a person he's fooling around with to call him by his real name. It seems fair. But she tries to imagine herself saying Jack's name, her best friend's name, while being felt up by someone else and that... that is not right.
Liz pats his chest. "Yeah, that's not going to happen."
He frowns a little, but nods. Says, "Okay. You don't have to." Because he's a nice, understanding guy.
She kisses him again.
