Liz is on her stomach, eyes focused on Jack as he watches his hand caress her bare back.
"Did you know that you have a bruise?"
His finger traces a spot on her butt that, she assumes, is where the bruise lies.
"No," she says. "But I guess I'm not surprised. Considering."
His eyebrows are raised, as if he's waiting for her to continue. After a few moments: "Are you still uncomfortable with--"
"Frosting!"
"The safe word doesn't stop conversations about sex."
"Well, that is not fair."
"I'll be delicate. Are you still upset by your..." He trails off, either searching for the perfect phrase or mesmerized by her ass, which he's staring at again. Or maybe he's thinking about doing stuff to her, about how the last time they... did their new thing (she wants to be delicate, too, even if the words are only in her head) she ended up... begging for sex (please, I need you, and that's what it felt like, a need) and didn't hesitate when he told her to get on her hands and knees (that request is generally frosting'ed). "... newfound interests?"
"A little," she admits. "But I'm trying to focus on, you know, so what if I'm... whatever. You're not going to blab about the weird stuff I'm into, and you don't judge me." She pauses. "I want to ask you something, though."
"Yes?"
"Do you... like it?"
"I like pleasing you."
Now she raises her eyebrows. He, however, continues:
"I also appreciate that you trust me enough to relinquish control. And I do enjoy... being in control."
"Good. Win-win, is what this is. Why should I feel bad about it? I mean... I kinda do. But I'll get over it."
He leans forward, kisses her shoulder. "I know." His hand leaves her body before he whispers, "Get on your back."
She does what he says.
