Hi baby, I know a better gun control policy is not the only way, but we should start there, because changing laws is much easier than changing people's minds. I think we can't blame someone but ourselves, we build a society that alienates persons, that causes so much pain. We should care more for the person sitting right beside you.
We're all angry today, we should focus that energy in doing something, anything because it's not going to get better in one day is goign to take years or even more, start today with someone close to you remind them that they belong to, one step on the right direction.
I just don't know what to say... I am a mess full of different emotions and thoughts running through my head.
You mentioned Dawson College... I remember that time. I was 2 hours away at my university when I heard about it. I was shocked and sad and even a bit scared. Watching the security increase at my school that day was proof enough that something had happened, even if it only lasted for a bit.
Lexi mentioned in her entry that it's like we focus in on these events and then completely forget about them. It's so true... and that is another tradegy after the fact. No one mentioned the incident at Dawson here until yesterday... that just seems wrong to me.
I just don't know why people can't get along with one another. What would make someone so sad or angry or scared that they would feel the need or desire to do such a thing? I just can't imagine it...
I can relate to being a mess, I was one when I posted this las night. *hug* I wanted to remember that it was Virginia yesterday, but this happens everywhere! When I started writing i couldn't remember the exact name of the college just the events, our mind is a fragile thing that pushes all this memories way on the back. Today everybody is going to talk about the shooting and discuss what we can do but tomorrow it will be forgotten, and that's not right! There's too much questions without a proper answer; I just hope we don't have to ask ourselves this things again, but one thing is sure, the problem is here and it's now and we can't avoid it anymore.
It's so true... the sad reality is that this can happen anywhere. But I won't forget this. I can't, and I won't allow myself to. If anything will change it has to start now.
