School yard pick- what an original way to make a group of hungry, tired and dirty survivors feel better! And there's that exciting new twist again - Bruce gets to go to Exile Island for three days because no one wanted him. But he's guaranteed that many more in the game, plus he gets to hunt for the hidden idol. Something tells me he'll have better luck than our gal Misty did.
Could someone explain why Danielle chose Shane first? I, uh, know I'm sort of superficial at times (and Shane isn't bad to look at- wow, washboard!) but he's not the most strapping of men. *Also he's an incredible spaz and clearly going nuts out there as the minutes tick by, something Danielle isn't privy to yet--- But she soon will be.* She could have had the majority of young guys on her side had she picked one of them first. Not that I'm worried about her. I'm only complaining because they broke up the beautiful triad. Dammit! How can I witness Ho!Yay moments if Aras in on a tribe of women and SHANE? Eeek. I'm not slashing him with anyone. He's too unpredictable. Eep, Aras has already stuck his foot in it, with his 'honesty'. Yet, Shane's growing agitation may keep him safe for another couple of tribal councils. Oh, I changed my mind about Courtney. She's, like, kinda, annoying.
Guess that leaves Nick and Austin. Add a beautiful smile to Austin's beautiful eyes. That 'alliance' moment with Terry was great. Nick is tall! And a nice guy. As nice as I try to be, I would have had a hard time hiding my eye roll when Ms. Sally Do Right lost the freaking spear in forty feet of water on the first day! Terry was none too pleased about it, but kept his tongue.
As for booting Melinda, I understand the strategy, but I wouldn't have felt bad about booting Shane only to have him replaced by Bruce. Seems like a good trade to me.
This story had me up a while last night. Mostly trying to confirm the timeline in my head. Zoe and Lady H are estranged, we find out that it's because she was pregnant with her married therapist's baby, Lady H gets pissed at the therapist and being a resourceful and strong woman, she gets his license revoked. I don't blame her one bit.
Zoe is back in town, unbeknownst to Lady H, goes to a clinic for a sleep study? I ain't no doctor but I can guess what her insomnia was caused by. Which is where she encounters Sneller, who's pretending to be his twin brother Wolfowitz. She and Capt Jack are both taken by this Sneller and experimented on. But they are 18 and 19 (brother Jacob was number 1) so there had to have been a bunch more before them, but not from the clinic because Greg confirmed those people were all fine. But Jacob was only dead for 2 days when they find him, which is what threw me for a little bit. Ok
Greg moments were few and mostly with Cath, liked his hoodie. And his reference to Hotel California to Gil. I knew he'd like the Eagles! (Unfortunately only one person will get this reference and she won't be reading this because she's in the UK and doesn't want to be spoiled.)
Bandana! Nick. Awesome, he looks so good as a cowboy. *wink* He's even cute getting squicked out by the removable eyeball. And what was his comment to Rick about torture chambers? Had Rick confused didn't it? "Never figured you for the delayed gratification type." "I'm not, Grissom is." Is anyone else amused how Gil gets to have Ho!Yay moments when he's not even in the room? *snorfle*
Brass is turning into Greg, absorbing Gil's lines! "All they are is.. " "Dust in the wind." He was fairly sensitive handling Lady H and Gil. He truly is Gil's best friend at these times.
Pretty sure Wendy was the only tech in this ep, she had scenes with Sara, Gil and Nick. Pretty good for the new girl. Liked all of those scenes too. Why is that I find Sara endearing in those moments when she's a little squicked but trying to figure something out? "Sexual, no" "But offensive, yah."
Wendy's attempt at gallows humor with Nick would have been funny if the reality hadn't been so damn gross. Then she asks Gil the question everyone wants the answer to- "How do you sleep with the guy that killed your daughter?" Gil's answer of "revenge is an act of passion" didn't really answer it for me. Yah, I get it, I know she can compartmentalize sex in that way, but to get that close and not just fucking kill the bastard? She's got to be smart enough to know that gaining evidence in that way may not be admissible. in fact, I know she's that smart. Which makes me wonder if she wasn't just setting this guy up for later.. getting his defenses down for when she had undeniable proof that he did kill her daughter.
Even Doc seemed a little intimidated by Lady H, especially when she asked about Zoe's ring. I noticed that as she was walking down the hall after stealing the etching from Wolfowitz, she looked a LOT like Kristy in that scene. And led me to thinking that she to Gil is a lot like Kristy was to Nick. All undeniable attraction and dangerous. Nick gave in to it, who's to say Gil didn't? I'd say their reasons are different, but then again they may not be.
The last few scenes... Gil's snarky comment "Well, this isn't a torture chamber, it's a time capsule." almost made up for no Hodges in this ep. When they find the laboratory of the mad scientist, it was almost disappointing.. until they find the twins. Gross and evil of me, but they were alluding to horrid experiments the whole ep, it's only natural that my Stephen King reading brain wanted to see more of what was happening.
Then as Gil spots Lady H's necklace, I knew what was happening. Funny, I wasn't surprised that he ran off without the help of a cop of ANY kind. I got chills just from that glimpse from the road of Lady H whipping Sneller. "Let me finish." Please do.
"I'm saying Stop." Or was the emphasis on I'm?
Overall, I really liked the storyline, but mostly because of Lady H. She's truly got a power like no other. She's so strong. You could see the gears turning as Gil gave her information, you knew she was going to do some investigating of her own. She was controlled right up until the very end, where even then she still seemed to have a control over how far she went with that whip. Almost like she knew Gil would find her.
So the questions remain-- How badly will she be punished, if at all? And is possible that Zoe had the baby and it's out there somewhere? I like how it's still open ended, Lady H could be back again.
