I know what you mean! I miss having more people on LJ. I love the functionality of LJ and wish FB had the same... I mean, you can filter notes on FB, but you can't do the cool icon stuff you can on LJ.
And as we've found in the last few days, the immediacy of reactions on Facebook can make for some heated arguments.
The slower longer format of LJ help keep things at least a bit more thought out.
I've been making an increasing effort to spend very minimal time on FB anymore. Hit the birthdays in the morning, play some Scrabble, but that's about it. Wisconsin politics aside, there's just too much noise and I'm not so willing to put in the time and effort to dig out the few bits that I really want to know.
ever since FB decided to notify me everytime everyone clicks "LIKE" on something...it is pretty unmanageable. That, and the almost 1000 'friends' I have! (well I unfriended one last night who didn't want to stay reasonable about the politics). Anyway, yeah. I agree.
Some of us are still here! I don't tend to post a lot, but I'm reading every day. FB is too big. There are too many "friends" on my list on FB and I don't always want to share with them. If I have you on LJ, that means I really want to know what's going on and really hear what you have to say.
