Is that still happening?

Recently I was talking with someone and the genocide in Darfur came up, to which she replied, "Oh is that still going on? I haven't heard anything for a while."

So it seems fitting that if I ever post anything that it should be this. The US Holocaust Memorial Musem has teamed with Google, among others, to bring us closer to the crisis in Darfur

I hadn't thought about Darfur for a while, so thanks for bringing it up. I don't think I was quite to the "Oh, is that still going on" point yet though.

It's really sad that Anna Nicole pops up in the news every week even after her death and Darfur just falls off the radar. it's telling about society in general.

The other sad thing about modern genocides is that we (by we, I mean governments, in particular, ours) do nothing and then when it is over say "never again." And yet never again happens again and again. Hee, I did a paper on this :-) But it truly is sad.
