trick or treat

I used to joke that my son Michael (now 10) was preparing for life as an ascetic. He would refuse dessert, save all his money and store away his Halloween candy never to be eaten. He's done laps around the outside of the house with a backpack filled with rocks. He seems to think that it's helpful to learn to exercise discipline. I'm not sure where

That is completely awesome. Also, the health teacher is kind of silly. 10 year olds are way to sophisticated for the marshmallow experiment.

It'd be nice to know the teacher's intent. Perhaps she was just curious about how the older kids would react. I think if she were Michael's science or homeroom teacher I might try to contact her and and find out. As it is, she's the health teacher so I'm just going to give her the benefit.
