I finally beat RE5 last night. The last boss was lame. It actually made me like the game less. I can understand why it's only been getting an 8 to 8.5 rating now. For some reason, they seem to be turning the Resident Evil franchise slowly into Dragon's Lair, where you wait for certain times to press specific buttons. They used this a lot more ( Read more... )

Yeah, it's a good game, but probably a better value at $40 rather than $60.

As far as the "action" scenes, there seemed to be about the same amount. Most of the ones in RE5 were only a few buttons, whereas RE4 had the Krauser fight. :)

But I agree. I was let down by the end boss. I mean, it was kind of hard, but...I don't know, it felt very anti-climatic and a little too neat.

I liked it, I enjoyed it, but...yeah. RE4, overall, was better.

I don't know, they squeeze them (action scenes) in everywhere. I just think that style of play is lame. RE4 had Krauser and the boulders. It also had the walking statue.

Yeah, the end boss seems to be a let down for everyone. It's too bad, because the rest of the game is really good.

Well, I'm saying for all the sequences, it's probably about even. RE4 had a few here and there (walking statue, boulders, fight with that one guy you have to freeze) with the main Krauser fight. RE5 felt like it didn't have one main action battle but many small action parts.

Regardless...

The battle at the end of 5-3 was pretty cool, probably cooler than the last boss. I'm really curious what they'll try and do with RE6 (assuming they left enough to really make a sequel).

This post boggles my mind because I've discovered that two people have already beaten this game, there's more of that button timing BS, and the end boss sucks.

It's a really short game. Especially for $60.

So glad I didn't try to break myself for it. Though it probably would still take me a few months to beat.

Why is COD 4 still $60?!?! And Left 4 Dead?!?!

They're still popular titles that sell well. I picked up L4D on Amazon.com during a pre-Christmas sale for $40.
