The circulars are the 2-6 page ads that sometimes show up in your newspaper (ours are in the Tuesday and Sunday papers) that have the current sales of the week. The nice thing is you usually don't need to buy a newspaper as the grocery stores have a stack of them somewhere in the front of the store. Lately there has been a lot of grocery store competition around here, and these circulars have had very nice, deep discount coupons. Often they can be used on multiple items (like a "limit 4 per transaction" rule) so you can stock up on things you buy all the time. Also, there is nothing preventing you from going in and using a coupon, and coming back later that day and using another of the same coupon from another circular. I usually don't do this but occasionally do if it is something really amazing.

Sweet! The reason I posted it is it feels very much like the casino fun books, mail offers, and comp whoring I did much more of in my, ahem, youth, in Vegas and Reno. Since so many of our friends still do that kind of stuff, I thought people would get a kick out of thinking about grocery shopping in the same way.
