WHAT IS A HURRICANE???

I find it amazing that you can read about something in text books and watch it on TV but you never fully understand it untill it actually happens to you. A Hurricane- something you will NEVER experince in Washington State

My roomate lives 20 mins outside of New Orleans and she was really lucky and her house is intact. But then again, there is massive flooding going on and thats only from the lake, not the ocean. I feel so bad for everybody who has had losses due to the hurricane. And to think, it was heading in our direction.
