So it's finally over. Barry Bonds is now officially the Home Run King(tm).

I am a big baseball fan. However, I'm not in the camp of these ungrateful fucks who have no appreciation for what McGwire, Sosa, and Bonds did for the game of baseball. They saved baseball. They made baseball fun to watch again ( Read more... )

I think I heard from somebody that, ironically, the pitcher that gave up the tying home run had been suspended in the minors for using steroids.

What I think is odd is that Bud Selig has been fairly adamant about believing that Bonds has used steroids even though he has never tested positive. So Selig is pretty much admitting that their testing is useless.

If there really is a villian in all of this, it is Bud Selig.

He knew that this was happening, and ignored it until it become "cool" to hate people who do steroids, and now he wants to take this holier-than-thou position on Bonds.

He could have stopped this steroid business from happening long ago, but because it was good for baseball's bottom line he let is slide. Which is fine. But trying to avoid any repsonsibility for what happened and playing the innocent saint is just plain bullshit.

Why is it fine to ignore it when it was good for baseball's bottom line, but it's bullshit to denounce it when that is good for baseball's bottom line?

I think both are bullshit.

I think it's fine for him to denouce steroid usage BUT he needs to be a man and own up to his responsibility for allowing steroids in baseball. Is it so hard to do a "mea culpa". Jason Giambi did it, why can't Selig?

He still contends that he knew absolutely nothing about what was going on when it's pretty clear that he did.

His whole attitude throughout this whole ordeal has been, "don't blame me, blame the evil Barry Bonds", which is just absolutely sickening.
