The Bear Can't Help ItdigibobDecember 24 2003, 16:01:01 UTC
Loved the bear eating tasty baby Jesus -- he must have thought it was communion and didn't want to chance experiencing transmogrification through a cracker! Just go straight to the source.
The picture of you guys with those lights reminded me of my stepmother -- she is obsessed with shoving strings of lights into vessels.
Hope you guys have/had a great Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Twelfth Night, Solstice, and New Year!
I laughed hard at your take on the bear and tasty baby Jesus, Bob! :) I asked Ed (the one who made this display) in which river in Alaska do baby Jesuses run, and what time of year are the bears there to catch them.
That's cool about your stepmother and the bottled lights --- I've always wanted to try it, myself, as it's my favourite display on this section of 37th Street, in Austin. There are a few more I took this year on the web, here: http://www.austinbears.com/37th/page.html I should really have posted the ones from last year, when I took a lot more photos.
... for not e-mailing you back after that Grex blow-up. Truthfully, I did ignore your e-mail, at first, because I was extremely frustrated and hurt by the whole thing and really didn't want to deal. Yeah, you can see I still avoid conflict no matter what the cost Unfortunately, this time the cost was a good friendship, and for that I sincerely apologise. After the first of the year, we were gearing up for the Hawaii trip, and the reply that I needed to send you never happened. Okay, enough with the excuses. I'm very happy that you posted your comment above, mynx. It's been wonderful reading all about your year so far; I've really missed hearing from you. Forgive me if I'm misremembering the words, but I wanted to say "Shadi Mubarak" and best wishes in your married life. I can't wait to see pictures :) I'll read more of themynx's journal and maybe comment myself when I get a break from work.
