ATARI FLASHBACK
these things don't work well, but i think it's just so you get the authentic atari feel.
second post in a row that involves old video games. sweet!
hightops, atari...can you get any retro-er?
eric was obviously enthralled.
defeat at the hands of retro-technology.
i tend to get a little crazy when i shave.
michael's a hobo...with a car?
and at some point michael and eric fought in the yard, which actually happens pretty often:
most of the time when my scanner doesn't balance colors correctly it's just annoying, but in this case it just looked kinda cool.
interesting side note: eric had lost that sweet pair of sunglasses for...what, like three months? and then michael's little brother found them under their couch. in honor of that, i would like to title this picture "lost love, reunited."
busy lately, but really good busy.
friday (was that really just a few days ago?!) sue and i hung out and made blueberry/banana/chocolate pancakes and ran around baton rouge. mall, barnes and noble, and the new rave to see TALLADEGA NIGHTS, which was just as funny--if not more--than it looks. cut the afternoon short because sue had to babysit that night, but it was an excellent day nonetheless.
eric called saturday morning and woke me up. plans had been made to go to hammond to skate the concrete park. i was afraid i wouldn't be able to go due to the plans for austin's birthday that afternoon, but it was agreed we would make it back in time. and so we set out for hammond. made it there in pretty good time, thanks to michael's 90+ driving skills. and then we skated. aghhhhh, that park is so much fun. completely free, no pads, nothing. all concrete, with lots of fun transition and a couple of sweet euro gaps. most of our time there was spent just cruising around; that park is good for that. after a few hours we split and headed back for baton rouge, more specifically central. got a snoball and hung out at the stand for a few minutes, and then got ready and headed out to baton rouge for austin's birthday celebrations. ichiban's for dinner, hot air balloon festival got rained out, so to sue's for movie-watching, or just hanging out, whatevs. it was fun nonetheless. another excellent day, indeed.
yesterday we went back to hammond, only this time we left baton rouge around 5:45 AM. yeahhhh. i was seriously wary of only getting four hours of sleep and then trying to skate, but i'm glad i went. it was awesomer than saturday, due to the coolnes, lack of annoying people, and the abundance of old-timers just cruising around. those dudes know what it's about. after a fun four hours or so, we split and made it back to baton rouge before noon. felt so weird. i showered, ate, and napped until about 4. woke up and read perfume for the rest of the day, which is a surprisingly good book.
today i'm going to do yard work, read, and hang out with sue. hopefully it will be as good a day as the last few have been.
peace.
