a lot has happened in the, ohhhhh, month or so since i updated last. sue's right, i need to update more often. my memory's too bad not to.
where do i start?
voodoo.....oh voodoo. it was an entire day of music with sue in new orleans at city park. the weather was amazing and we were surprised at the lack of people there. more people came as the day went on, but you could pretty much get as close to the bands as you wanted if you tried hard enough. we saw a lot of bands; i won't even try to name them because i'm going to leave off a lot. the flaming lips though...god do they put on a good show. they released gigantic balloons for everyone to toss around and used more confetti than i ever though possible and oh yeah wayne coyne came out in a big bubble and rolled around on top of the crowd. the whole thing made me feel more like a kid than i have in a long time. we sang along to the songs and sue got on my shoulders and it was just awesome. secret machines is also very mentionable, as we were right by the weird circular stage and they are also really good (and were watching the big lebowski before they played). we had to leave before they finished their set (which didn't have any really definite gaps between songs, they kind of flowed into each other). the entire day was amazing, just being there with sue and all the music and i don't even know. it was just really good.
let's see....
some other day was tunica hills with the sierra club. i drove sue, keri, emily, and tara up there, with a stop or two for tea and breakfast in st. francisville to pick katie up. the drive to tunica hills is really pretty and fun though, if you can drive you should go up there. the road's really curvy and the leaves were changing colors and it's even more fun when the girls in the car are making the whole alphabet with pieces of pretzels. that was definitely a fun trip. we hiked around tunica hills for a long time and got lost, but mr. babcock is the man and eventually led us back to civilization. his kids are seriously the coolest, most hippie kids ever. master nolan is 4(-ish?) and climbed all over the place and totally had the hots for tara. the scenery at tunica is really cool, there are a lot of waterfalls and creeks and the trees were cool and even though it got really tiring, it was still a lot of fun.
sue and i made a wish under a waterfall at 11:11 on 11-11. does it get any better?
we left tunica and took katie back to st. francisville and got some admittedly kick-ass nachos at que pasa (which ben ate the leftovers of later aghhhh). tara was apparently drunk on life on the way back to baton rouge, and she lauged a lot in the back seat while we struggled to get through lsu gameday traffic.
sue and i developed film, finally! it was a tense and nervous process and i thought that it didn't work, but it totally did. have a look:
sue is totally a model.
me and bentley are bros.
we're now working on making prints, but that's kinda harder. just wait, we'll get it right. photography is cool!
my memory is horrible. i'm leaving a lot of stuff out, i know i am.
the friday before thanksgiving break sue and i played hookie and drove around and went to see the u.s. vs. john lennon at the old pink siegen theater. i love that place. we had practically the whole theater to ourselves. after that we picked up lauren and austin and...what did we do? i remember coffee call drivethru with the lady that hated us(me) but not much after that. anybody wanna help me out with that one?
it's been a long week, but not long enough. i don't remember much from it, it's all kinda blurring together. sue and i have hung out pretty much every day and she's right, i am more or less a fixture at her house. the other night we played cranium cadoo for like 30 minutes with will but then moved all the furniture away and had a wrestling tournament. sue owned will and threw him into a chair, like any good sister would do. we were all really tired and i left way late. it was fun.
friday we went to new orleans, sans friends, to hang out and do some christmas shopping. ran into mrs. decuir, went into some sweet vintage shops, i got a sweet newspaper boy/bicycle/idontreallyknowwhattheyrecalled hat for $12. the weather was really good and it was nice just wandering around the city on a friday afternoon with my girl.
gd, i know i'm forgetting a lot of stuff. all the more reason to start updating again.
but for now...fin.
