I just renewed my auto insurance this afternoon.  I had gotten used to paying the cool grand for six months of minimal coverage, today's six month premium: $425. O.O  I knew my rates were going to drop because I turn 25 tomorrow, but not by so much.

Oh and Geico can shove their product, I saved $600 over them. >:-p

Damn, dude! On my old-ass honda accord, minimum coverage was running me 225 for six months, and i was 20 at the time!

Now full coverage for my car is 725 a month (I have to keep full coverage because it's still financed through the bank.)

And I personally have never known anyone who saved money with Geico. I figure some people must have0 the seem to keep an advertising budget somehow.. but they're always 500 more whenever I get a quote from them.

D'oh! I remember I had to pay a little over twice that when I got my first car. They really like to make it difficult to live on your own these days it seems. No offense to those who lived with their parents past 18 or still do.

And the moral is, always keep an eye out for a better deal :)

I never take a loan on a car and if the car is under a certain price I only get third party property, fire and theft and the insurance company throws in $6000 worth of repairs if I'm hit by an uninsured driver and pays up to $10,000 driver insurance if I'm injured but not at fault :)

Believe me, I'm allways on the lookout for a better deal (Strictly speaking of material possesions here, I don't want anyone to get the idea I'm one of those stereotypical types.), despite the fact I don't allways go basment-bottom rates. Especially living near a military installation where the worst of the worst drivers all collect.
