ok, well to start - i hate to burst your bubble, but if you are not en pointe yet by age 14 it is unlikely you will be able to make a career out of ballet, unless you have an absolutely perfect body - and by that I mean hugely arched feet, 180-degree turnout, extensions up to your ears, and the ability to turn like a top. that being said, i commend your dedication and would be glad to offer you help. If you're 14 and not on pointe yet, you definetly need to begin strengthening your feet. therabands are one of the best ways to do this. to use them, flex your foot and place the band at the ball of your foot. rolling through demi-pointe, pointe your foot through the arch, pushing against the band. these offer resistance to make your foot stronger. if you're not sure how this works, i'm pretty sure there are how-to videos on youtube. in fact, youtube is also a good resource. i know of at least one physical therapist for a ballet company who posts videos on how to deal with common problems

Danke My teacher says as soon as my general point improves i can get on pointe, so fingers crossed that is soon. I am back in class (grade 5 and intermediate foundation) and my teacher knows that I'm v. serious about dance, even though i'm a pretty late re-starter.
Is there anythig u r advised not to eat, or to eat? Hear darcey bussell limits wheat...
uhm, obv. i would just eat healthy. lots of lean protein to build up muscle, ensure's nutritional shakes if need be. and no offense, but the chatspeak is grating my brain. D:
you go to cpyb??? i go to the chambersburg ballet theater. we're 45 minutes apart. my teacher lavinia ried taught there for a while before she opened our school. and her son peter doll (currently with the miami city ballet company) trained there for a while. oh, and we just hired christine crowley (well that's her new last name) as a teacher and she trained there also. haha, thats funny that were so close. and about your eating disorder, sorry about that mistake. and if you ever need help with that, ive been through it all. im not forcing recovery down your throat but if you need help you can just ask me. be careful (i almost died, dont let that happen) -L.M.
I went there for the summer intensive and I am so desperate to go year round . . . I was going to this year but my parents didn't let me. But I do identify myself as a student there moreso than my current school. Oh that's so cool! I think I have heard of your teachers. Don't worry about it. Sadly it's all too common in the ballet world . . . btw, add? ;P
