Clearly, if the Amish are going against the norm of societal pressures (which they do) and ignorning social and technological advances of the world around them because of their beliefs (which they are), they are putting up a figurative blockade that stops the influence of popular society.

They are, concordantly, a counterculture.

Your teacher's a dummy.

We don't, I decided to write a paper about them because I think the Amish are very interesting. Well, not their day to day lives but their culture.

Just so you know...
we just might party Dec 11th a la Nate Beane. How sick would that be, yo? Word! And I'll do my damndest to keep things hysterical, but it's not easy. It isn't like I PLAN these things...they sort of attack me out of nowhere!
