Welcome to my High School

Just when I thought my High School couldn't get any stranger...

I'll not post about the first weirdness of the day so as to not influence any proceedings that may come from it. Ask me and I'll let you know. (not about me, just about the students involved)

The second, however made the first seem normal.

Disclaimer: This is true. I called another teacher over to corroborate what I was seeing. He had to check his glasses to make sure..

I have after-school duty in the student parking lot. Just try to usher the students off campus and be a "presence" in the parking lot to make sure nothing happens between the school building and them leaving campus.

Just as I and my fellow faculty member start to head back to the building, a car alarm starts to go off. It continues for a minute or so and I wander to the other end of the parking lot to see what is going on.

I see the car from a distance. It's a nice VW Cabriolet. There are a number of students around the car trying to get the doors open, or, even get in the car through the trunk. Inside the car were two girls panicking because they were locked in the car and the car wouldn't start. The auto locks were engaged, the door handles wouldn't open the doors and the windows were up. The alarm was still going.

At that point, I called over my fellow faculty member and had him survey the scene. His response was the same as mine...

"Well, the windows are up, aren't they."

Here is a picture of the car:

Actually, when they were panicking, it looked more like this:

I just wish I could make this stuff up....
