Actively ignoring every post that mentions Lost from now until the end of the series (end of the series, how weird is that to say) because I've made the decision to wait the extra seven days to watch it on live on television. I don't know, but for me, Lost is one of the few shows that I've always watched on television; I've never downloaded an ( Read more... )

I had to think for a minute about what one of my oldest OTP's were but I think Eowyn/Faramir from LOTR was my first real OTP. I do still love them much for the same reasons. I always related strongly with Eowyn and I feel like I'd be happiest in life with a Faramir. I think I'm usually drawn to men like Aragorn but they're not what I really need, etcera. Ship for very personal reasons, obviously, which isn't common in stuff I ship. So yes, I ship them a lot. &hearts

I wish they had paid more attention to their relationship in the films but I definitely shipped them literature wise first and foremost, so.

Oh, LOTR! Yes, I definitely went through a LOTR phase at one point, but I was largely drawn by the mythology, etc., so I can't say I ever shipped anyone but I do remember them! They were great!

OTPS! You're last post got me all thinky about what I need to ship a relationship and if there are any set guidelines which mean I will ship a certain way but I am still mulling all that over and will get back to you.

Onto oldest OTP's; most of mine are literary characters becuase I was a prolific reader in my preteen years and from those I think my oldest and most beloved are Will/Lyra (HDM) and Ron/Hermione (HP) also Maia/Finn (from this little book no ones ever heard of but I read over and over again). AND I still adore them all, focusing just on Will/Lyra and Ron/Hermions becuase whil I still think Maia/Finn are cute they really only had a frienship with possibiltity (it was a kids book) and they don't make my heart to flippy things like the others. SO;

Will/Lyra - OH LORD. This; please be kind to Lyra for as long as she lives, I love her more than anybody has ever been loved there is a reason I have this quote memorised. Its becuase when I thought I could not possibly feel any more for these two crazy kids and that I could not ( ... )

It's interesting that you say you ship mostly literary characters because I don't - most of my ships are TV couples, a smattering of movie couples, and then there's maybe two literary couples? So I find that quite intriguing.

I'm still in the process of reading HDM so I haven't made it to Will/Lyra yet but I've heard such great things about them I'm excited to read them. Especially because people are so ENTHUSIASTIC about them. Wow.

Partners bringing out the best in each other is so wonderful for me.

Yes! Absolutely! I love that dynamic so much, I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. Actually, I think the way you describe Ron/Hermione pretty much encapsulates why I love them so much in the first place.

I remember Phoebe/Cole! Yeah, they were really interesting but Charmed unfortunately lost most of its lustre in its last seasons.

I never even watched the last two seasons to be honest. The sixth season was pretty much my favorite. XD

Pacey Witter: TV Boyfriend TO ALL yo_mtvraps February 12 2010, 23:27:54 UTC
The Pacey/Andie breakup always pissed me off. That show is just too melodramatic! But I love Pacey/Joey, I was 12 when they "happened" and I was all swoon-sigh about it. Still am, I haven't seen an episode in years but I know I JUST KNOW I will fall all over again. They are my OTP, still, because when I get right down to thinking about ships/shipping, they are the ones that always come to mine. I miss them, that's how bad it is! There's no one like them, although many of my other ships are similar. Veronica/Logan, for instance, would fall into second place in my shipper's heart. I think I just have a soft spot for relationships heavy on the snark/banter/sarcasm ----> TRU LUV.

I really like your discussion heavy posts. They start my thinking about certain things I'm sure everyone thinks about, but never actually gets down to the talking about part. Also you're pretty slick, chick!

LOL, Dawson's Creek MAJORS in melodrama. COMPLETELY.

Hahaha, so true. I think - and I don't say this a lot - that Pacey/Joey were pretty much flawlessly executed. You know the writers went into S3 with a game plan and the way it unfolds is just so SATISFYING. They're even awesome in S4 and usually the established couple stage is a death knell for most TV couples so basically THEY DEFY ALL RULES AND CONVENTIONS. I bow down to you, Pacey/Joey.

Also you're pretty slick, chick!Aw, thank you! I like to think that even if people don't always reply to my insane WALL OF TEXT posts they still read them and think about them. I think I usually write posts thinking my flist is quadruple the size it actually is and that's why it comes across so... heavy, haha. But really ( ... )
