bicameral mind theory. The gene
LRRTM1, which increases the odds of a person being left-handed, is also apparently linked to increased odds of schizophrenia -- exactly as would be predicted by Jaynes's theory

Yeah, it is nothing to worry about certainly. My dad is a southpaw too, and he has definitely never had any schizophrenic episodes... that is fortunately rather rare.
However, it is worth noting that left-handers may exhibit more visual-oriented learning/thinking, like this article talks about:

So, if Madelyn shows any latent artistic talent, be sure to encourage that... she might have ace-in-the-hole as compared to us righties.
