Good news:

This afternoon, my muse came waltzing through the door.

Bad news:

Instead of bringing with him the last chapter of AYW, he brought a whole fucking new story with him.

WTF muse?!?

And now, I'm sitting here with my fingers twitching to start on it.  Fucking twitching.  I already sat down and outlined the whole story, character background,

*giggles* To be honest, I couldn't sleep last night, and decided to make good use of the time by starting the new fic. The prologue (which is, true to me being me, a full-length chapter) is already done, and I'm just going to follow my muse. As you say, hopefully, he'll be kind enough to give me the last chapter of AYW (as well as the Epilogue--yes, there's an epilogue *grins*). As for beating him into submission, you can count on it. *cackles* I'm giving him what he wants, so he better give me what I want--tit for fucking tat and all that. ;-)

I know how hard it is to finish a chaptered fic... It happened with the last one I wrote and it took soooo long to get that final chapter done!

Oh, it's getting finished. *nods and grins* Don't you worry--I don't like to leave things unfinished. And knowing that finishing it means that you'll read AYW is all the more impetus for me to kick my muses' arse into high-gear. I want to know what you think!!!

Ugh, it's just so fucking frustrating! >.< I have it all planned out in my head, but every time I write it, it comes out as a steaming pile of shit. I've seriously written it like, 5 times. *headdesk* SO annoying. >:/

I pretty much decided to follow my muse; I couldn't sleep last night, so I started the new fic and I'll see if writing it helps me subconsciously work out the final chapter + epilogue of AYW. I just don't want the ending to suck, so I figure quality is more important than how long it takes me.

I know, I know. I feel like that's why this final chapter (plus the epilogue) is taking so long to get out of my head, through me fingers, and onto the comp screen--it's because I'm forcing it. I know what I want to happen--it's not a plot issue or anything--it's just that every time I write it, it comes out as shit, and I don't want the ending to be written horribly. Quality over timeliness and all that good shit. ^.^

Aw, thank you sweetheart. I promise that as soon as I get the first few chapters of the new story done, I'll post the (long-ass) Prologue that I wrote last night at 3 am. *giggles* Hopefully, since I'm following my muse, he'll decide to have mercy on me and hand over the end of AYW. *sighs*

That's what I did. I couldn't sleep last night, and I just banged out the Prologue for the new story. I'm hoping that if I give my muse what he wants, he'll give me what I want: the final chapter + epilogue of AYW.
