Since neither his grandfather or his mother where the best roll models for Bobby, I admire him for standing up against them for the love and care he received from his own father and Ennis.Dying or not,LD has no right to talk to Bobby like that at least he recognized he could not win over his grandson with that kind of attack at the two people Bobby loved, and loved him back.

Thanks! I tried to give my Bobby a lot of Jack's best qualities, including a knack for standing up for himself, as we witnessed in the movie on that Thanksgiving where Jack finally puts L.D. in his place.

A great little chapter. The chili sounds real tempting. And this was jolly: “Get down.” Ennis commanded. Buddy ignored him, but Jack dropped to his knees. He wasn’t obeying Ennis; he was giving Buddy a belly rub. “Meant the dog.” Ennis said dryly, rolling his eyes.
I loved it thar Bobby told his Granddad and his Mama off - but you won´t let him get into trouble, running off on his own like that, right? Clara

Thanks! Haha, I was hoping someone would like Ennis's sense of humor. :) Sometimes Jack is the only one who listens to Ennis! Don't worry too much about Bobby--he's got a good head on his shoulders. (For a teenage boy. Which really isn't saying much...but don't worry.)

I'm glad Jack is back home, oh the joys of having kids, can't just rush to the bedroom as soon as he got home, had to cook instead, heehee....Hopefully Bobby will be home soon too. I was gritting my teeth at LD. He makes me awfully mad, even though he's on his death bed I guess! Oh, and I see Ennis is sorta jealous already and he doesn't even know a man came on to Jack back at the convention. Really nice chapter! I enjoyed it!!!

Yeah, I don't think Ennis is going to be finding out about Jack's non-friend anytime soon. Jack's way too smart for that. :) Bobby is working on getting home...even more so now!
