See my midget friend, many times I feel the same way about valentines day, and birthdays and Christmas presents the same way you do. I don't really like days associated with presents mostly because there's all this pressure I feel to get something for my friends or my family. Theres all that pressure to get something for them, AND to get something thoughtful as well. I much prefer to just grab something for someone on the spur of the moment, and then give it to them. I think it means so much more that way. But this view of love is quite at odds with some of my friends to whom a birthday is very important. So, I try to be sensitive, and sometimes it is nice to get something on one of those days of the year. But once a gift is expected, I think it loses half of its mystery as a gift.

Amen! I think you transliterated (another word I made up) my big rant into a few logical words =) It is indeed the element of surprise and the thought to me that counts ... The expectation removes much of the mystery ...

To some, birthdays are important and mean a lot, as to some are anniversaries, historical dates, days of a loved one's death, etc. Many have days they need a little gift, totally understandable ...

So Penny (one of 4 cats) just used my keyboard as a springboard, lol Silly cat --- gotta love animals --- oh boi, there goes Stormy (the cockatiel) with his annoying squawking ... Ahhhhhhhhhhh, lol That poem or short will come soon --- just need a lil brain usage to plot the plot and stuff ... I'm smelling a cockatiel, who, with patience from one ownee, turns into golden wonders ... hehehe I will have fun with this ...

Yes, love is all you need =) I think love is the best gift one can offer to anyone =)

Hey, I give extra love on V-Day to some friends :-D They'll enjoy a lil extra love :-D

I just hate that this day is so full of love --- Every day should be full of love --- Why love more on this corporate day of flowers and chocolate? lol

I don't know what I'm doing, perhaps I'll be writing some poems or short stories, and oh, I have class to go to as well, lol
