My CD player was stolen from Ol' Blue today... I actually locked my doors for once, and somebody broke in and took it. Thankfully, they didn't damage the car too bad; must've known what they were doing. They also got The Sadies Live In Concert Disc 1, which burns me up too

Why the resistance to mp3s?

I neither know or care what everyone thinks of "those people who clung to tapes", as DG so eloquently put it. I also don't care what everyone thinks of me for clinging to CDs... as such, I don't feel a pressing need to keep abreast of the latest technology just 'cause it's "cool". CDs were good enough for me ten years ago, and they still are today.
Ol' Blue is also full of tapes, which I still listen to now that my CD player has been stolen. My computer is stuffed with MP3 files and I listen to them on shuffle while typing responses such as this. But for a combination of portability, ease of use, and variety of available music, it's CDs for me.
Plus, I have used iPods and they are a righteous pain in the ass.

But what about a mp3/cd player? Looks like a discman but can play burnt disk mp3s as well?
They're pretty useful I find...helped me make my transition from CD to MP3 myself...then again, my CD player just stopped working...and my cd/mp3 was "borrowed" by a no longer friend.
so yea...cd/mp3 player...
if not that, I like all creative products for mp3 players...easy to use and not a complete piece of crap.

That sucks. I'm sure you'll be able to find a normal CD player somewhere... there's still some around here. I still stick to the CD's... there's just something about being able to actually HOLD the music....
