Chaos Theory Decant Circle

May 26, 2010 09:04

I absolutely LOVE the Chaos Theory series. I've been around for at least 3 of them and each time when it's over I always have a "shoulda" moment about running a decant circle. I love just being able to smell all the unique blends that are created in the moment of Chaos!

For simplicity sake each decant will be $3 :) I really want to try as many ( Read more... )

1. I would love some vanilla and tilt-a-whirl CT scents. I may also be down for doing like - half or quarter bottles. Like you I would like to try as many as possible, so if we can just do decants of as many as possible....that'd be ideal.

2. I REALLY think you should do 3 separate orders so that you get a good sampling. I also already ordered some (3 vanilla, 1 T-a-W) that if I don't like or don't like that much could offer up to you as full or partial bottles. But from past experience it seems Beth tends to do 'runs' where a many similarly numbered scents have the same base with subtle variations, so it'd be more more interesting to get 1-2 bottles max per run, I think, and order more frequently. I realize that's more expensive but I'd be willing to pay more to get that kind of variety, and others may feel similarly. (Also, they could all be combined shipping-wise at the end of the circle to save decantees SOME money) By far and away, I think the staggered ordering is the BEST idea for the CTs ( ... )

I'm a sucker for the allure of Chaos Theories. I want to say the 2nd one was the first one I participated in and I included a couple bottles in every order during the time it was 'open'. There's just something about a OOAK blend that is too much for me NOT to chance - it could be my one true love! The round before last I found a perfect Amber + Leather combo; like it was made for me! It's just exciting :)

I'd be totally down for splitting 1/2 bottles. I know most people prefer to get their decants all together, so those that want the lunacy+moths+butterfly are more likely to add some CT decants in those circles, so it might be more feasible to split bottles up into 1/2s or 1/4s.

You and I seem to have polar opposite scent tastes so this could potentially be the perfect pairing LOL

I totally agree about the OOAK bottles though that can be frustrating, too!

And yes, we do tend to have opposite tastes (though we both like Jingo-Kogo) generally so I think this is likely to work well for us. Just keep me up to date on your plans and when you need $ etc. :)

i would love to split half bottles or quarter bottles of the amber series? vanilla's always been very hit-or-miss with me, but i'm somewhat tempted as well.

real random sampling of bottles would be awesome! basically whatever fairnymph said, i'm such a sucker for the CT series as well. \o/

How many halfs would you be looking for of the Amber?

i don't know, perhaps three each time? or maybe two ambers/one vanilla and the next time two ambers/one tilt-a-whirl or something like that? i'm good with whichever way it turns out with respects to who's interested in buying what from this?

I'd be happy to do 10 for $30 each time you do a batch order (if you end up doing three separate orders) Maybe three each of V5/6/7 and one tilt, though I'm flexible, depending on what you get. (Tho I'd prefer fewer tilts than anything else.) I'm in Canada.

I think the Frankincense will need to be limited to only one bottle since only you and one other would be interested and I think the rest of the bottle would be too much for me to front unless we got others to want just the Frankincense :(

I do plan on having enough for 3 on the Vanilla, 3 on the Amber, and 1 on the TAW, it would just be 1 on the Frankincense.

That sounds fine - I'm surprised there isn't more interest in the frankincense blends, but sometimes it works out that way. I appreciate you decanting as much as you are!

Frankincense is very hit/miss for me, sometimes I think I love it, others time I loathe it. I'm still really interested to try them, though!

I'd love to try at least 5 different decants of different Vanilla Chaos Theories. I'm in the US. :)

Do you care which 'order batch' they come from? I may order 3 separate times or more, maybe a couple bottles each time - so if 5 bottles covers the first and second orders (ex: 3 ordered the first time, 3 ordered the second time), would you be ok waiting for the decants?

Actually, ideally, I guess I would love 2-3 different decants from each order of the vanilla and I'm happy to wait until all imps have been decanted at the end of the final order to get mine. (Just please if you could, please label each imp from which bottle it was from so I know the #s >>; ) Does that make sense?

I'm usually quite patient so long as people stay in contact. :) I'm only just able to wear perfume again now and have so much to test already.

Oh yes, I would definitely label the decants with the number! I'm also planning on working out fairnymph's request #3 on tracking who got which decants.

Great!

I don't know how much I can promise on the Tilt-A-Whirls - being responsible for picking out certain notes scares me LOL It's one thing giving my general 'ideas' of what I think is in it.. I'll have to see how much interest is in getting decants of them. People seem to like the somewhat sure bet of knowing at least one of the notes :)

Looks like we have 6 bottles of Vanilla chaos for each batch, 3 Ambers, 1 Tilt-A-Whirl! That would be a total of 30 decants for you :) If you'd like them all held til the end the total would be $95.50 (used Priority Mail) or $98.66 with paypal fees. If you'd like each 10 sent after I get them decanted, the total would be $99 or $102.27 with paypal fees.**

**The shipping & paypal fees assume you're in the US!

If I end up with any Eris' Tilt-A-Whirl that I *think* has lilac in it, I'll let you know!
