Title: Shades of Red and Green
Author's note: Okay so this is a SUPER DUPER GINORMOUSly short chapter. But have no fear, the reason for that is because pacing made more sense that way what with THE scene being the next possible scene. So probably tomorrow or next day will see chapter 4's inception.
Outside of Metropolis, KS - Year: July 2012
“From the moment I received your first letter, I knew you were not like the rest.”
Oh God, croak already!
“You came from nothing and you worked so hard to get where you are. You might’ve made a few mistakes.” Thunder roared outside the window... while angry relatives seemed to roar outside the door. The bangs on the door seem to blend in with the thuds outside. “You said that if I helped you get out of prison you’d take care of me. And you have. You’ve shown me pleasures that I’ve never known. That’s why you deserve everything.” Finally! We’re getting somewhere. And might I add, ew!
The older woman lying in the bed could barely hold the pen she was using to sign the piece of paper that would basically sign over all she owned to the man sitting on the bed next to her, her husband. Her much younger husband.
“I love you, Lex Luthor.”
With those words, she let out her last breath.
And looking down on the legal document still in his late wife’s hand, Lex Luthor completed the signature that she had started. Then he calmly took off the wedding band on his left hand and dropped it in the glass containing her dentures.
He was finally, once again, a multi-millionaire.
