Question about Tomcat's sunglasses/goggles

I'm pretty sure they're goggles :'D
From what I can tell from the manga drawings, they have a rim/band around the lenses and what look like bands/elestic strap thing.
My conclusion = Goggles

Goggles, for sure. Ahaha, don't go off of Japanese cosplayers. Everyone thinks they are loads better than western cosplayers, but they are really around the same level (and because you can buy everything here in Japan, they never have to make anything)

A secondary theory...
The first comic they show up in they're goggles- you can see a strap.
But in the second strip and in the colored illustration they've changed quite a bit (and they're ah... huge.)
My pilot brother was looking over my shoulder as I was looking at the mini picture of Tomcat and... "Hey, that's neat. He's got a fighter helmet visor!"

I grabbed a pair of those overly large sunglasses with one continuous lens, popped out the lens and I'll be sewing it to the wig directly <3 Goggles made the wig look a bit funny since it squeezes...
