I hate it when the counselors start talking about college. Really freaks me out. I know that it's so damn close. I really need to start deciding what I want to do, where I want to go...and how the fuck I'm going to pull it all off. Not to mention SATS and all that other shit. *big, heavy sigh*. I am so stressed out. I know that I'm only in junior ( Read more... )

Follow your dreams kid. Do what you want in life. Don't let others tell you how to live. You are the one that deems yourself successful. Don't fall like me and feel that success is only measured by pretty objects.

What do you mean 3.7 is "not the best gpa"? If I had a 3.7, I'd spray paint it on the side of my car!!

I have a 3.7 as well, so don't get too discouraged. Honestly, one's gpa mean's absolutely nothing. Only colleges give a shit, and only for about a month.

Listen to Andrew, I agree with him.

I was born with a pen in my hand as well. One day I'll realize that, and so will you.

All jobs are meaningful in some way or another. Anything and everything could possibably change someone's entire perspective on things. I know you want more than that, but more important than having a meaningful career is to simply be happy with whatever you choose and try to be happy with everything else. If English makes you happy, then be the best damn English teacher in the world. I'm sure you'll be able to find creative ways to teach it and change lives (for the better) in the process. If you're not sure if it's what you really want to do, try some substituting first or take cadet teaching. At least then you're in the classroom area (even if it's not english) and you can get a feel for it, though I realize it'll be a bit different than when you're there all the time, it could still help. You'll do great, I know you will, and you know a lot of other people would agree. Even if you find that English isn't you're calling, you'll still suceed and make a difference, and hopefully be happy with it. And that's all that counts ( ... )
