Have you actually watched 1x04 yet? Because that episode is probably where it gets really interesting (I mean, I liked it from the start because I like cheese and werewolves, and that pilot was very cheesy and werewolf-y), it's the introduction to one of the show's arguably most interesting characters, and from then on out it gets more and more intense and interesting? S2 may even be better than S1. Idk, I've haven't been so satisfied by a show's plotting and storytelling in a while. I would stick it out a bit more, but maybe it's just not for you? IT'S OKAY IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT.

ohh no I haven't watched 1x04 yet (just finished 1x03), BUT IT PLEASES ME GREATLY TO KNOW THAT I HAVE SOMETHING SO IMMINENT TO LOOK FORWARD TO :D

I guess I just hate being so out of the "pop culture" (read: whatever's most prevalent on my Dashboard/Flist LOL) and I really want to give the show a chance because some of the GIFs and tags I've seen for it have been SO ENTICING??

I shall soldier on though, more than enough shows don't take until half a season or so to hit their stride, I should give it at least that long I think lol *-)

The opening of that episode is SO GREAT. I love it so much.

I mean, the show's gotten a bigger fanbase because this newest season has been so great, so I really would just solider on. There's really no agreed upon "time when it turned out awesome" like I'm pretty sure that all of TVD fandom agrees on Lost Girls as the point when it happened for that show, so it's kind of... up to the viewer. I, personally, really loved Magic Bullet, the episode you're about to watch, but Scorp says 1x07 Night School is where she'd place it.

My flist (particularly the lovely opheliahyde) totally sold me on Teen Wolf, I shall soldier through until at least the midway point of season 1 and hope that by then I'm as ~into it as so many other people seem to be lol *crosses fingers*

Aww, I thought TVD got real good in episode 4 (Elena being all 'dude, trust is earned!' to Stefan, being all bad-ass to Damon to defend Caroline, the adults not being idiots, and having their own secret council). Ahem, but I think I got through 6 episodes of this and gave up. :shrugs:

ohh episode 1x04 was definitely a breath of fresh air in comparison to the first 3, and it had it's fair share of good/memorable scenes, but I don't feel like I really got a feel for the show's true potential until 1x06?? *-)

lol I hate being so out of the "pop culture" loop (/clearly doing things for the right reasons lol) so I'll probably soldier on for a few more episodes and hope for the best :/

Yeah, I'm in the minority. I think that 1.04 is when the potential showed up and it was really good, and it stayed at that level through 1.06. 1.07 elevated it to great, and it stayed that way through 1.12, and then 1.13 just hit awesome and but for a handful of episodes, it's mostly stayed there. For me, personally, I liked 1.04 better than 1.06, but quality-wise, I think that 1.04, 1.05 and 1.06 were on par.
