It's like after the Columbine shootings--ban the black trenchcoats! Matt had been wearing a black trench for months, and said he refused to change his clothing preferences based on the actions of a couple of violent idiots. He caught a lot of flack for it too, being only 16.

Kneejerk reactions to make some folks feel like they are doing something to gain control over a situation that is uncontrollable.
