I rent about ten movies a week, normally the ones that I don't expect to fall in love with so I don't really think I'd like to see them more than once. If I went the way you do, I'd be bankrupt, lol. Plus, I'd probably not have found some gems that I wouldn't have bought anyways. (Eulogy is the latest one that I found enjoyable that I may end up adding to my collection.)

When I do buy, it's for titles that I'm almost positive I'll like (I just preordered The Assassination of Richard Nixon and The Machinist) and get them via Columbia House, which ends up averaging around 7 dollars a DVD. I really do find theater prices atrocious these days. If you want help setting up a Columbia House account just let me know -- they're super easy, I keep two open at a time, and ya get movies for cheap! ;-)
