Summary: Tommy takes Mardy to a football match
There’s a constant stream of grumbling coming from the seat next to his. In a crowd of almost seventy thousand diehard fans, screaming and belting Stern des Südens on top of their lung, Mardy’s complaints are awfully loud. First, it was the beer. It had to be Budwiser even though Tommy tried to convince him that Pilsner is so much better. After Tommy found him his precious Bud, Mardy begins to argue over the word “football”. He does his best to shush him up, reminding quietly of where he is: forget seventy thousand Bayern Munich fans, these fans eat, sleep, live for football. Mardy just huffs, pulling down his Minnesota Vikings cap further on his head. Around the thirty-third minute he starts bitching about the lack of goals.
“How the fuck can you people be so excited about nothing?”
Tommy just pats him and turns his attention back to the pitch, knowing that there is no hope for Mardy.
When the whistle sounds at the end of injury time, a win for the home side 2-0, Mardy stretches his legs, a smirk playing on his lips.
“Yeah, that was ok. But wait til the NFL starts. Then I’ll take you to a real football game.”
Tommy just sighs. There's no changing his American boy.
