February the fourteen was just another day, another Sunday as it happened to be that year. You still attended training that morning, as you knew you would any other day. You weren’t cynical or bitter; you loved that the others were excited about the day. Flowers, candy, dinner: there definitely wasn’t a shortage of romance in the Real line up. When Raul’s face lit up when he spoke about the night he planned for his wife, or Iker’s excitement over his new found love for his girlfriend, you felt a pulse of something course through your body. You weren’t cynical or bitter at all.
Hearts and love had been floating before your eyes for days now and every time you saw a sign of one, it made you smile. You remember days of running your fingers through his long blond hair, of whispering against his skin. You could pick up the phone and call; you know he would answer. But instead you went to a bar and bought the first man with the similar look (lean, blond hair, utterly and heartbreakingly gorgeous) a drink or several. You let him talk you up and you did the same. But you knew the entire time he was not Fernando.
