At the same time, if you're in a position where you face blind, stupid ignorance day after day, you start to lose your temper. I see this a lot in the queer community, where people will come in and make stupid declarations or ask questions of the sort that thirty seconds on Google would answer. The first time, you're happy to answer the questions! You're EDUCATING THE PUBLIC, and MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE. This attitude might stick around for a little while, but over time you slide from happy to polite to civil to gritting your teeth around the words to just WANTING TO PUNCH SOMEONE IN THE FACE. Would it be better and possibly more constructive to stay polite and civil? Sure. But at the same time, answering the same damned stupid question that everyone should already know the answer to is really infuriating. And when someone flaunts their ignorance, the urge to scream OH MY GOD WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID is sometimes overwhelming.

See, I get that, I've worked in customer service and I know you have too. The same dumb question over and over again with someone who is profoundly and almost existentially rude can drive one insane. However, the doctors involved are getting paid a fuckton more than your average wage slave. Ergo, they're paid to deal with a little more shit in their lives. It sucks at 9 dolars an hour and can crush your will to live. If you're making say 90,000 a year, learn to deal. Work with parents and not against them and you'll get further. Also note, a lot of the link I was able to link this time around weren't around before. Doctors didn't want to even acknowledge the questions, let alone answer them. They just had an attitude of "well, if you're not gonna believe me then fuck you." Seriously, who else can call a woman "bimbo" and get away with it in this day and age?
