So yeah, I'm disappointed. Yeah, I want to scream. What will he do now that he doesn't have to worry about re-election?? What?? I never saw so many upset people over a political event in my life. I really have nothing else to say. Congratulations Bush supporters, I hope you enjoy these next four years. You'll realize afterwards that you ( Read more... )

i just dont understand why people are so rude. I dont like Kerry, and then again i do not call him an asswhole, or dick or whatever, I respect him as a human being. I just dont agree with what he says. I do not agree with everything Bush says and does, But the things i do agree with on more important to me. I believe we should not change presidents in the middle of a war. I know everyone has strong views, i just dont know why people get so ANGRY at him. Like freakin go to canada and stop bad mouthing your own country. Seriously, people move here to start a good life. We are never satisfied. To me Kerry is just not the man i wanted. Im so sick of everyone hating everything about america- seriously - get over it!

It's not about hating America. What makes this country so great is that we have the ability to speak our minds and express our opinions on where we should take this nation. A democracy is suppose to be a government of the people. If we don't exercise our right of freedom of speech and give the criticism necessary then we will not advance as a nation.

sorry man i wont think after four years that bush was not the right choice. sure he has his bad points but i believe, and you may not (its all how you interpret things) that the economy must work from the top down. thats the way you do things. the middle class cant be strong if the upper class isnt. not in a capitalistic society. thats just simple economics.

my personal view of the economy is this: no one understands the economy. it's all based on ebb and flow and no president truly has any impact on it. what kills me are bush's environmental policies, education policies, mass debt, and although I still think that disposing Saddam Hussein was correct for humanitarian purposes (but not necessarily for the same reasons the president used) the president has set a dangerous precedent with this unilateral action. i worry about losing roe v. wade and about the air i breathe and how my sisters won't be able to afford paying for college. i hate bush, i really do. i would like to move past that hate, but right now I'm feeling particularly jaded by the ruthlessness that Bush and the Republicans used to win this election. made me want to fucking kill something.

Matthew, I love you. Education and environmental issues should be much higher priorities for our nation because our future relies on it. And of course it is good to have Hussein out of power, but it could have been done in a much better way. We took a huge risk by going unilaterally and Bush's foreign policies have succeeded in making our nation hated throughout the world. Everything Clinton did to advance our nation in foreign affairs (and economically as well) was basically erased by the ignorance of Bush and his cabinet. What makes things worse is that Bush went to war without an exit strategy. We now leave a country overseas in ruin and chances of getting a proper democracy in action is not likely, at least in the near future. Now we are giving this man another four years to cause more destruction. Good effin job America!

What hurts me the most is the simplicity of your argument; it's as clear as water. Then why are we in this situation? Were people walking around with special sunglasses that changed their perceptions of what is happening? The more I think about it, the more sad I become. Because people like my mother weren't even able to express their right to vote, due to gross incompetence by those in control. I know PA still went Kerry, and my mom's missed vote did not account for anything. But it's largely symbolic of this country right now. Why should she have had to wait five hours and then cry when they moved her back in line after she was there for an hour and a half already?? Will somebody fucking explain this bullshit to me please? Why didn't she get a tax cut in the mail? Hun Bush supporters?? Explain it to me, since you support the president. Is it because she's a single mother and the government felt that she already gets enough help? Yeah those checks that the rich were getting and using to buy another stock or a fucking ( ... )

neither of them would/have made a good president. give it 4 years..then we get a whole new group of candidates... maybe then we will have a competent president who can speak the english language

you're right, but think of the damage that a president can inflict when he no longer has to worry about re-election. the goal of any first term president is to win a second term so he can leave a huge imprint on this country. and its going to come in an industry first, environment second way. this president has been the worst president for the environment in history and it will only get worse.

Thank you for demonstrating your anger this way. I knew you to be a better person than a lot of other democrats who are flipping out and packing their boxes for Canada. Please tell me you are staying in the country!

Because it's my journal I am allowed to vent. I love this discourse. Thank God at least some college kids give a shit, one way or another. And I'm not a democrat (although I'm registered as one in order to vote in the primaries, how about that democracy?)
