Apologies to Baltimore/Dharmata 101 tonight!

Aug 23, 2008 08:00

I really had intended to do the circuit in Baltimore on Friday evening. Unfortunately, when I left the office (luckily lots sooner than usual, since I planned to hit a law library downtown first for a couple of hours), I found my second tire in less than a month going flat (and they're all pretty new). I was able to get it patched before Merchant ( Read more... )

It must have been the DC Friday night crews trying to keep you local.

More likely some crew of juvenile delinquents on the march, lol. Or the local "Christians" punishing me for the evil of my ways, given all my odd bumper stickers...

It's strange. Friday used to be a hot party night in DC. Now all we've got is Bound and Wasteland, both running on the same (last) weekend of the month (although a friend of mine is cooking up something exciting monthly for another Friday). This week even DJ Blacula wasn't spinning his not-goth-but-sometimes-scene-friendly sets at Fast Eddie's in Fairfax.

So it was B'more or Fallout (have you and mz. bat checked that out yet--DJ Tucker runs a fabulous party!) in Richmond. Due to the lost schedule time, neither was a really good option in the end, alas.

We need to get you and Kimber back into the DJ booth at TMP again sometime soon. In the interim, it would be nice just to see you at Midnight some Saturday. If you can attend the XUBERX extravaganza on September 6, let me know and I'll add you to the guest list...

Yeah I was going to come out tonight but I was all the way the hell down south in Farmville, Va.
And I'm basically just now getting back home.
I'm tired. I'm telling you.
But anyways, I'll try and make it out to Midnight next Sat.
Take car Scott and I sure hope your tire doesn't keep going flat like that...
Night. (by the time you get this it'll be morning but you know what I mean)

Farmville? Shudder. Yeah, I know all too well where that is, from my college political days. You guys think the goth scene is full of drama? You should have been there for the factional/romantic wars of my youth, lol. At one point I had the hots for a Longwood College politico who was actually in love with someone from VMI who, in turn, was wooing someone from Mary Baldwin, etc., etc. Or something similar. Urgh!

You missed a really, really impressive (and damned well attended) show by Dharmata 101 tonight.

Phae, JavieR, and Solaries are spinning next Saturday. Come out again then if you can!
