I'm glad you posted the actual colours because I'm like you, I love colour! Honestly, I've seen actual sunsets that vivid so it's not unrealistic! i think the final result is worth the work you put in, I especially love older Sam!
Ah heavy body acrylic! I was recommended that for my sculpture painting, and have bought some to try on this year's crop - it really is very thick, isn't it. I've found it virtually unusable unless sprayed with water (but I'm not using a lot of water, just a wettish brush to start with, and a quick spritz, so it seems to be holding together ok). Plus I'd hoped it would be much more opaque than ordinary acrylic - but it ain't. I haven't really used it neat so hadn't noticed it drying especially quick. I use a snap lid plastic lunch box/food container as a palette for all my acrylics - I spritz the paint with water as I go, and before sealing the lid, and it stays wet for ages.
You were just saying before that you didn’t like acrylic because it was too thick and I didn’t get it until I tried this stuff 😂. The normal stuff I use is almost as thick when neat but it waters down all the way to watercolour consistency without separating. So if you can work with the loss in opacity then it can be as versatile as you want. But yep I really didn’t get on with this thick stuff. (Didn’t help that it wasn’t what I was intending to buy in the first place

Awww thank you so much! I alternate between looking at this and thinking: I love the colours. Vs. Maybe they are too much? 🤷🏻♂️😂 but it makes me very happy to know that other people are enjoying them too! And I’m pretty pleased with how older Sam turned out too! Thank you for the uplifting comment my friend! 💛😄
