Note: More will be added as I flesh out her character.
Sally Marquez was the younger of two children born and raised in a residential apartment in Gotham City. Her father was a marine who was constantly traveling and her mother suffered severe bipolar disorder for which she was never treated. Due to her mother's condition affection was something she, and her brother Heubert, lacked in her life. At times their mother would be so manic that she’d go out partying leaving the kids alone, other times so depressed that she became almost catatonic. During this time Heubert (only three years older than her) began taking care of Sally. In high school Sally took an elective course in psychology which made her instantly interested in the subject.
It was during these high school years that Sally began to beg and badger her mother to get the help she so desperately needed, it was all in vain. When Sally was accepted at Gotham University she moved out to live on campus and became out of touch with her parents although she would talk with her brother frequently. In time Sally finished her doctorate and had money to move into a cheap apartment on the lower East Gotham side. In order to stay close to home and not move far from her brother the new Dr. Marquez chose to intern at the closest and toughest mental hospital available: Elizabeth Arkham’s Asylum for the Criminally Insane. The internship pays very little (in real life internships pay very little if anything at all) and takes place at night while she goes to school during the day. Sally can’t afford a car so she takes public transportation and knows most of the Gotham routes by heart.
