PS: Pin Light Icon Tutorial

Made with Photoshop 7.0.1
We start off with a base of the lovely Ashley Tisdale:
Duplicate the base, set desaturate the new layer and set it to screen:
Now duplicate the desaturated layer twice (though it does matter how light or dark your base is, so play around with the amount of soft light layers) and set both of those layers to soft light 100%:
Now add this gradient:
Set the gradient layer to pin light 60%:
Then add text or a brush for the final touch and then we have the complete icon:
