sadly, you are reading that incorrectly. You're completely missing the "memory" part.

Not at all. The less I care about something, the more easily I will forget about it. So, therefore, total apathy breeds an existance with little to no memory, enhancing my superhuman abilities. Really, the only problem stems from a lack of caring as to whether or not I should actually use them.
