Mike Casper! He's like Coulson in training, pre-Coulson.
Shutdown is one of my favourite episodes. Every now and then I learn that something that happened in the West Wing that I thought was extreme actually happened in the real world. Less of the West Wing is made up than I thought.
Um, it's Danny Concannon. West Wing was my first fandom. Now I have no West Wing icons.
Hahahaha! I so fail! This is what happens when I take a minute out from writing my post to answer an email from a friend whose last name is - you guessed it - Kincaid. Sorry, Danny!!
Casper! That's it! I was totally blanking! Lawrence O'Donnell was one of the producers, and he also played Jed's dad. In fact, a bunch of the consultants were from the Clinton administration, and they even had a couple of republican consultants, one of whom was Frank Luntz, the republican pollster, and also Peggy Noonan. They took a lot of storylines straight from actual administrations, particularly the Clinton one, such as the shutdown. Art imitates life!
I've been watching Elementary, too. (Just finished the latest episode.) It's growing on me. I'm really curious where they're going with this "sober companion" business, what'll happen after her six weeks are up, and why this is the profession they've chosen for her. (I'm not quite sure how much thought's gone into it, to be honest.) Any ideas yourself? Really enjoying the performances (I have a soft spot for Lucy Liu, and JLM's not half bad, either). M.
I quite like Elementary too! Though it throws me off every time they call him Sherlock. Because in my head he's not Sherlock at all--I'm just watching a good procedural with interesting characters. You know?
Also, West Wing! I was just going through quotes the other day and dude, there are bits of text that can still make me kind of weepy, years after I last watched an episode (need to do a rewatch myself). For example...the carving knife conversation. *cries all over your post*
In other news, I am still far too excited that I own Loveless volume 9 now, with 10 on pre-order. *happy flail* I accidentally read a spoiler for recent chapters and when I have a chance I really must catch up on the scanlations because OMG. ♥
