im surprised everyone decided the reporters action were inappropriate
in context the reporter was acting within their legal right to do their job

everybody hates the media- thats a fact

Very true! However, I think that sometimes the media goes way beyond reporting and gets too invasive.

Well I look at it this way. The reporter was being invasive in a bad area of town with some bad people. The more I think about it the more I'd be in favor of macing someone-- but sadly it is not self defense. There is no reason to expect that you can just go chasing after someone without consequence. He totally got what he deserved.

Let me tell you one thing -

I've been accidentally in contact with mace five or six times in my life, and that's in a close and distant proximity. It's not that bad, really. Fuck that reporter and his dodgy style.

Furthermore, we all know prostituition exists, I don't know what he was trying to prove..was he trying to get some old women to gasp or something? Lame.

Unfortunately, while I dislike things like this, these people were in a public space. There are no laws saying that we have the right not to photographed or videotaped in a public setting.

Very true. Honestly though, if someone was coming after me in that fashion and proceeded to follow me after I had fled, I would confront and if they were persistent, I might have done something to this degree.
