[semi-rant]
this isn't actually a rant as it is my...
it's not even random. i'm just...i want to say that i'm a bit disappointed in a certain fic i'm currently reading. nothing big but...i'm looking for something different. i cannot emphasize that enough. and once one starts giving everything away in the first 2 chapters or everything is predictable if the author uses similar themes/plotlines, then it becomes...well, boring.
i wonder though, is it safe for me to say that i'm hoping for the fic to NOT have a happy ending?? or at the very least, a twist to the story (like the hero not doing what everyone thought he did and not being what everyone supposedly thought he was)?? no, i'm serious. because if it does, then it becomes a typical soap opera. it would be a refreshing change though if it turns out not so happily ever after (well, for me anyway)...
oh, i'm still gonna read the fic, just cos i'm curious as to see what happens next (i'm a masochist that way...) but...i'm still bit disappointed though. i wish the author could've...idk, used a different approach or something. i don't know how long can he exhaust his muse with the same style and similar plotlines/themes, which is really sad because the author is an...acquaintance? of sorts and i'd hate to see him go to waste...
[and i don't care if this is a public entry. i'm sure the person knows who he is.]
