I never noticed that but now that you mention it, it seems like a trend among those who study Japanese. Was it the same for you?
It's hard to start off Japanese because learning three different writing systems in such a short time can be very difficult. And some of that grammar can be such a pain XD Are you doing any other languages?
I already speak French confidently. At one time I knew some Russian but I really don't remember it now. I've studied some hieroglyphics and also Mandarin but never achieved any proficiency.
That seems difficult! What is/was your major? You've studied so many languages.
I use to study French but stopped when I entered the university. I plan to pick it back up at some point though, I really enjoyed it even though I found it difficult. How was Russian? I'm thinking of studying it after Japanese.
You should do it! Japanese actually isn't very difficult once you learn hiragana and katakana ^^ Grammar can be very frustrating and annoying at times but it's an enjoyable language to learn. I haven't been to Japan but I hear that once you go, you will never want to return back to your home XD
I so hope to go one of these days, but right now I'm just going into my senior year, so I''m pretty busy, but maybe-hopefully-someday I'll be able to afford the trip. Maybe even move in. *sighs dreamily*
You'll be able to do it one day I'm sure! ^^ I know we are strangers but if you ever need help with Japanese I don't mind helping you out. I love tutoring people Japanese so I can help if you ever want/need it ^^ But don't worry! I'm sure one day you'll be in Japan and know the language :D Just give it some time ^^
I want to learn Japanese, Korean and Spanish maybe, but I don't think I'm that good at languages D: I kinda suck at French and German, but I guess I was bad at them, because the only time I did something with it was at school... and when it comes to English, I read and hear it every day :'3
Oh I'm really bad with languages! ;w; I got lucky with Japanese though, I was able to study it in my early teens so it was easier for me to pick up (I hear learning a language at a young age is easier than at an older one). I think you can do those languages if you put your mind to it! ^^ It might be difficult but you can do it i'm sure :D

I took 1.5 years of Japanese at a junior college recently, for fun, but I have no talent for it and really need to start over from the beginning.
