Big professional conference was useful, and productive, and honestly a lot of fun. Now I get it. Every so often professionals like pretending they're college kids again and run around to different lectures and parties and activity booths - except now they wear suits and eat at nicer places for lunch. The real world might not suck after all. . .

The real world has income. And, oddly, a sense of purpose. Both of these are good things.

And, at this point, there is surprisingly little need to be a grown up except while you're actually in the office. And even then, not always.

Apparently the archaeology conference, in San Juan, was the most registered-for and most sparsely attended conference in recent memory :P
