In the same category of AWESOME tv ads. . . last night I saw one for ClearBlue pregnancy tests. The test kit is floating through space and a booming male announcer voice comes on in the style of the MachIII Razor commercials and says something like "ClearBlue, with technology so advanced, with a design so flawless. . .it's the only pregnancy test ( Read more... )

Apparently, the "booming male voice" is a huge money business; there are something like only a few dozen people who do the voices for these commercials, who get hired because their voices fit some aesthetic niche. I imagine it is even more financially lucrative for the "in a future where lawn mowers have the right to vote, and everything is on fire" movie announcer voices.

Christ, I saw that commercial last night, and my family and I made fun of it because of that spray coming from fucking nowhere and how it wasn't yellow BUT WE KNEW it was piss because, come on, and my dad said that the person apparently had been drinking too much water.

We have a distinct lack of lives.
