you do make a good point about how they were better role models for girls, but I have to think they were the beginning of the end, in terms of sexifying female singers.

and also, when we dressed up, I was usually posh.

And I agree, they're kind of the turning point - certainly in marketing sexy female singers to preteens (rather than just teens or twentysomethings).
