OMG-- not to go all junga-fangirly on you, but that was an AMAZING game. My family is a Mets family, and I was alternating between that and SciFi's marathon of Ghost Hunters (really interesting show, actually).
Dad wasn't such a huge fan, because he prefers "slam-fests to pitchers' duels." But my argument is that yeah, it was a bit of a pitching duel, but the fielders also were phenomenal that night. I mean, the Mets got some hits that were almost out of the park, but got caught by Arizona's center fielder... Arizona got some good hits, but the Mets were able to either throw them out or catch the fly balls. Both teams played tightly, and worked together in their attempts to beat out the other team.
Yes, I know. Little known facts about Julia include that she enjoys some junga now and then. ;)
If Fred were around, I'm sure he'd award you Basho points, as well. It was indeed an excellent game. I prefer pitching duels, because I'm no longer as exhilarated by Home Runs. Hopefully tonight's game won't be rained out.
This does qualify as registering on the JUNGA! meter, though. Whether that's good, bad, or scary... I'm still not sure. XD
Hope you're getting settled in and all up there, post-grad!
Like I think I said above, I like games that have good teamwork on both sides, where both teams work their hardest. I don't like those "easy-win" games because there isn't any fun in them... I mean, I like my teams to win just as much as the next person does, but there's a fine line between a win and a slaughter-fest. While there are always games in every league, in every sport, where a massacre is inevitable, the truth is that they're just not as fun to watch
