I should market that one and make a pretty penny! By some miracle (thank you, oh Gods!, especially Hephaestus, my altime fave, for this one!!) the car started ( Read more... )

Have you seen the movie _The Ice Storm_? Must rent. Christina Ricci as 70s bored 12-year-old seductress. And somehow, everything in the movie has a blue, icey tinge to it. Very cool.

DocBroc! I SAW THAT MOVIE WITH YOU!!!! 1997, October (or was it November?). I think it was actually cold/rainy out, and then we went to some bar/coffee place and had tea with rum (or was it cointreau?!). REMEMBER????? I came to visit you...Yes, it was a great movie indeed. With Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver in it as well. That's exactly the movie i thought of when watching Little Children.

as much as I wanted to love Little Children, having read the book, it was hard to. And yes, that's a cliche, but unfortunately, it's true. If you read the book first, it almost always happens. Luckily for me, I don't read a lot of books :) The movie was really good, but I wanted to be enthralled. Read the book. It goes into all the characters in WAY more depth, and you'll be even more blown away.
